  • Today I added a project and it is not in "https://proficad.visualstudio.com/" in "recent projects".

I clicked "browse", it is not there either.

  • Hi Vaclav,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

    What’s your VS versions?

    >> I clicked "browse", it is not there either.

Where did you click the ‘browse’, I checked the start page of my VS 2015, and it only have ‘Start’ and ‘Recent’ menu with its sub items, do you mean click ‘Open Project…’ and search the new project store folder that you just created before, but it cannot found?

If so, please try to File-New-Project… to create a new project again and save it, then check the store folder is existing or not, if not, that means your VS cannot save the new created project. Please go to Control Panel—Programs and Features and right click the VS item and Change-Repair to repair it.

If it is existing, but when you reopen VS and it not display under the ‘Recent’ on the Start page, it looks like the Recent list not auto update for the recent open projects, you can have a try with reset the settings of VS. Please go to Tools-Import and Export Settings… and select ‘Reset all settings’, then save your current settings, then click ‘Finish’ button to reset the customized setting to the default, it can help us to excludes the customized setting caused this issue. After that, check this issue again.

If I have any misunderstanding about your issue, please let me know, thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Sara

  • Hi Sara,

I clicked "Browse" in the webpage (https://proficad.visualstudio.com/), here is a screenshot:

    http://screencast.com/t/Ky38ynMSy6RR

When I clicked it this window showed up:

    http://screencast.com/t/fo7Dhca9

The project is called "CalcUpdater". I noticed it is somehow nested in another project named "autohotkey_reader", but that is not right. If should be an independent project. The two projects have nothing in common.

    Thanks

    Vaclav

  • Hi Vaclav,

Sorry for my misunderstanding about this issue and thank you for your correct.

As far as I know, the "Browse" button is used to find team project in VSTS. The "autohotkey_reader" is a team project. Team project and project are 2 different concepts. In VSTS, we usually check in projects/solutions to a team project.

So, could you please tell me how do you add the "CalcUpdater" and you want "CalcUpdater" it to be a team project or a project under team project?

If the "CalcUpdater" should be a team project, click the "New" button to create a team project.

    Best regards,

    Sara

  • Hi Sara,

CalcUpdater is just a project, so it should not be under "autohotkey_reader".

I have a question: I do not have any teams, I use my account just myself. Can I somehow have "projects" and not "team projects"?

    Thanks

    Vaclav

  • Hi Vaclav,

You're using Visual Studio Team Studio. "Team project" is a feature in VSTS, all source files/items need to put under a team project. Your CalcUpdater project/solution could be added to a team project for version control. About how to add your code to VSTS version control, refer to this link: https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/docs/tfvc/set-up-team-foundation-version-control-your-dev-machine#add-your-code-to-version-control

And after your add and check in your code to VSTS, you could find it at Code tab.

    Best regards,

    Sara
