What about info like the Windows 8 version? Is that detectable?Thursday, April 19, 2012 6:24 PM

I can't find any functions that says it's "Windows 8 Pro" or "Windows 8" or "Windows 8 Server", but I don't even know why you would need that. It's *all* Windows 8.

By the sounds of it, Windows 8 RT won't have "domain support". I know we build a lot of internal apps for Microsoft, including Windows 8 apps, and all of these usually require Microsoft credentials. If Windows 8 RT won't support domains I'm wondering if we'd need to build apps to detect that and inform the user of the Windows version limiation of the app.
I don't like scenarios biting me in the arse, since I know they always come up. :)
And the initial posters question might bring up other questions, if there are Windows versions that will have different functionality that could affect apps in the way I described.

But Metro applications across versions should be exactly the same.
