Failures installing Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 RRS feed

  • So frustrating.  I see that update for Visual Studio is available.  I go under Tools, and it does not appear there.  I verify that I'm using Update 1.  So I go to manually install it.  I download the installer, but it fails twice.  Then I download the ISO.  It takes three times, but I finally get a good download (this on a FiOS connection that is very reliable usually).  I verify that the SHA1 hash is good.  I install.  It takes about an hour to do the job. I get this error:

     Update failure

    I am a little confused about what it means about the download, because I thought I was installing from the ISO.  I verified that I have b670afc74f19247ade5252a79700764bd5a36623 which matches the ISO "Visual Studio Community 2015 with Update 2" 

    What's the next step?

  • I'm thinking I might have misread this latest error screen.  The Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2105 (KB3151378) seems like it was an additional update to Update 2, and it looks like Update 2 was successfully installed, after all. I manually downloaded the KB file and am installing it separately.
