User Profile Import feature in SharePoint 2010 Foundation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I can't find the profile sync service under ServiceApplications, when I want to add a new service application the only option I have is 'Business Data Connectivity-service'. Am I doing something wrong or is this the limitation of the free foundation version?

    thanks

  • Andre,

Are you saying that profile import is not available at all in Foundation 2010? there is no way to import user profiles from AD?

  • No, you can't do it with SharePoint Foundation. User Profile Import is a feature of SHarePoint Server Standard Edition.

  • Can someone then tell me how to get SPF to update the existing users info in sharepoint?

The users do show up and when I click their name I can see the info like email, dept etc. but changes to these fields do not update and now for some strange reason even new users in AD never get their email address populated. All my prior users do have an email address.
