RAW File Import RRS feed

  • Question

  • Trying EM2 Beta. All RAW (CR2) files are simply ignored and NOT imported...no note/warning/reason shown. Basically pretty useless for me...yes I know it's a beta...!!

  • Thank you for contacting us about this issue. To render certain RAW formats in Expression Media 2 Beta, you need to have the appropriate RAW codec installed. Several codecs (including Canon's) are available for download at the following site:

    http://www.microsoft.com/prophoto/downloads/codecs.aspx

Note: If you are using Windows XP, make sure you have Windows Imaging Components (WIC) installed.

We are planning to include native RAW support for some cameras in the official release of Expression Media 2, but this support did not make it into the beta. Please let me know if you have additional questions or concerns.

  • Thanx for that. Just to advise anyone trying to get a Canon Codex, select USA as your location even if you're not located there or you will get into an endless loop without downloading anything!!
