[MS-ERREF] glossary "message identifier" incorrectly refers to an email message RRS feed

  • Question

  • [MS-ERREF]: Windows Error Codes, revision 19.0, section 1.1 Glossary, defines:

message identifier: A string that uniquely identifies an email message.

This term is referenced in [MS-ERREF] section 2.2 Win32 Error Codes:

Most values also have a default message defined, which can be used to map the value to a human-readable text message; when this is done, the Win32 error code is also known as a message identifier.

The Win32 error code does not identify an email message, though. It is also an integer, rather than a string. The definition in the glossary is thus quite inapplicable.

I am not sure whether the "message identifier" term is used anywhere else in [MS-ERREF]. If not, I think it should just be removed from the glossary. The description of the text message mapping in section 2.2 is clear enough on its own, without needing a glossary entry.
