Merge Database Tables RRS feed

    I have three Access databases with very similiar, if not identical, tables.  For business reasons I cannot combine these into one database but need to evaluate data from all three.

     

    I am writing a visual basic program for use by people who are not very computer savvy.  The program needs to be able to combine tables from all three databases and then query the combined tables.  I am new to visual basic and ado programming and have not been able to figure out how to combine the tables.  I have been able to do this in Access using a fourth database to pull all of the information, but cannot do it programmatically.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  • You'll have to create a DataSet for each database and merge them via the Merge() function.

    To create a new DataSet, use the Data->Add New DataSource Wizard in Visual Studio.
