call InterruptInitialize() from application (user mode)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

is it possible to call InterruptInitialize() from an application (user-mode) on wince 7? MSDN help says that InterruptInitialize() is "kernel-mode-only". MSDN help also says, that I can use it from "user-mode drivers", but is is a user-mode driver similar to an application in this point?

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards

    Chris

Answers

  • When an user mode calls InterruptInitialize (and other functions) the call is handled by the device manager through the user mode driver reflector since an user mode driver is executed in an user mode driver host (typically udevice.exe). User mode applications are simply user mode application.
