Problem in Saving Workbooks to PDF in 2007 when hosted in iis RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I have referred following link and i have created program to save excel as pdf. Please see the below link

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb407651%28v=office.12%29.aspx

It was working fine locally for me but when i hosted the same in iis, it is not working. When i make an investigation, my application is goes on executing at the line

    excelWorkBook.ExportAsFixedFormat(paramExportFormat, paramExportFilePath, paramExportQuality, paramIncludeDocProps, paramIgnorePrintAreas, paramFromPage, paramToPage, paramOpenAfterPublish, paramMissing);

It is not throwing any error but it seems it is not passed that line. Can any one give me an idea to sort this

problem. I have installed the Add on too in my system.

    Thanks

Hope this is clear. Please let me know if this is not.

    Thanks

  • Hi Vasanth,

According to your description, I think it is the web application.

    1. Do you have try catch code?
    2. What’s the value of the path (paramExportFilePath)? Is it in your project folder?

I suggest that you could try to create a simple file (e.g. txt) and save it.

    # File.Create Method (String)

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/d62kzs03(v=vs.110).aspx

If it doesn’t work, this issue is related to your web application, you may check trust level of the application. Also try to change the identity of application pool.

If it works fine, please try to create a new excel file and save it to check the result.

On the other hand, Microsoft does not recommend or support server-side automation of office.

    More information, please refer to:

    Best Regards
