EWS - Migration from Exchange 2007 SP2 to Exchange 2010 SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using EWS for a custom application that allows users to view their calendars and other users' calendars. Currently all users are on 2007 mailbox serves and all CAS are 2007.

We are going to introduce 2010 CAS servers first and begin introducing the 2010 mailbox serves gradually.

I am running into the following issues when testing. Autodiscover is not being used as we are required to use specific cas servers for EWS (not the same that Outlook uses in our organization).

    1. It's impossible to access the mailbox of a 2007 user from a 2010 CAS server.

    2. A user who has a 2010 mailbox cannot view the calendar of a 2007 user. The error I am getting is:
"The account accessing the resource must be on the same Mailbox Server version as the delegate account being accessed."

I am not using delegation - a 2010 user just wants to check the calendar of a 2007 user.

Note that the reverse is possible: users who are still on 2007 mailboxes can view calendars for 2010 users.

  • Hi VP88, and others,

We've exactly the same troubles, only we got this error: "The account accessing the resource must be on the same Mailbox Server version as the delegate account being accessed." in Microsoft Outlook 2011 ( the new Microsoft Office 2011 for Apple exchange client ) Reverse is possible.

In Outlook 2010 ( for Windows ) there aren't troubles and all delegate calendars can be opend en viewed

I can't find an solution, maybe you found anything already?

  • Sorry, no luck with this issue so far. At least we know that this issue is reproducible from a Microsoft-owned application, not just the custom built applications I have to support.
