Query : Wakeup on Lan support on WEC2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear All,

I couldn't find in WEC2013 Release notes whether it supports Wakeup on Lan features.

I was able to suspend my machine using SetSystemPowerState API with "POWER_STATE_SUSPEND = (0x00200000);" Flags.

After that I used "Send-wol.ps1" script with powershell  which sends wakeup on LAN magic packet.

but board didn't wake up and stayed in suspended state.

I was wondering whether WEC 2013 supports Wake up on Lan feature or not.

    Kindly help.

    Best Regards,

  • Your question is not a WEC 2013 question so much as a question about *your* device/OS image/BSP.

For wake on LAN to work your device/OS image/BSP must (at a minimum):

    1. Have a driver that supports putting the NIC in wake on LAN
    2. The NIC must support wake on LAN
    3. Have a kernel that sets wake on LAN as a wake source for CPU
    4. So the board design needs to support it
    5. The BSP must also successfully be able to resume - you didn't say if it can wake from any other source
