Import a project in to another (How to link the forms together VS2013)

    Question

  • Hi, I am using VB.NET VS 2013 and I have imported a project in to another. Can someone tell me how I can make a simple label on one of my forms in the 1st project open a form in the imported project.

    Thanks Nige.

  • Hi Nige,

Do you mean you cannot open a project that was imported?
Please make it clear the meaning of "import" and your issue/phenomenon.

  • You need to refer the form by

    1. Add reference in the calling project.

    2. Import namespace and then call the from.

Hope this should do you need.

  • I created 2 separate projects and I thought I could bring them together to act as 1 project. So I imported all the files from the 1 project in to the other.

Now I would like to use a simple link label and tell it to open a form on the other project I imported. But its like it cant see the form on the project I imported.

This makes me wander if I have imported the other project incorrectly. Is there a special way that we must import a  project in to another so they act as 1?

    Thanks Nige

  • You need to refer the form by

    1. Add reference in the calling project. (Right click References in project from where you need to call, select project.)

NOTE : In case you copied files manually from one project to another, you might need to double check the namespaces.

    2. Import namespace and then call the from.

Hope this should do you need.

  • Hi,

My understanding is you want to make two Projects into one Solution.
But I can not understand the meaning of "import". Please use the words in Visual Studio.

    P.S.
I must apologize my misunderstandng. I get noticed "import" projects.
