VERY Generic Question About SharePoint & non-IE Browsers RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm working with PerformancePoint in SharePoint 2010, and we get really strange results across different browsers.  I'm not surprised, I know this can be a common issue with web development.  But I'm knew to both SharePoint & PerformancePoint development and was hoping somebody could suggest a good article or link to go to, that might give some good development tips?

    Just to list a couple of the issues we see, in Chrome we see instances where the PerformancePoint drop-down filter doesn't display -- the text next to the drop-down box appears, but the drop-down itself will not.

    On iPads, a user can log into my site and not be able to select her location (this is for a school system).  The drop down appears, but there are no options in it.  She can log into a desktop with IE, and her selections appear just fine.  Even stranger, somebody else can log into SharePoint from her iPad, and they are able to see their selections in the drop-down with no issues!!

  • Hi Puffster,

    This doesn't surprise me either, IE is always considered best experience. It can also depend on the patch level you are on, SP has had its browser support extended this year by Cumulative Updates.

    There's documentation here;
