Boot configuration corrupt RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

I am not sure to which Forum I should post this question so forgive me if I chose the incorrect one.

I have setup my laptop with dual boot configuration so I can boot from different VHD's. Now the VHD where I work most on (Win 7 x64) was having issues and I had to reboot it manually. Unfortunately it does not boot successfully anymore into this VHD. It jumps in the Repair mode and reports an error of a corrupted boot configuration (error 0x490). However, I can boot into another VHD (from which I am writing this message).

My concern is that I might loose the current setup of the dual boot configuration and that I cannot boot anymore into any of my VHD's.

I read KB article 927392 but I am not sure if this will mess up the boot configuration.

What steps do I have to do in order to fix this issue but preserve my dual boot configuration so that I am able to boot into my VHD's?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
