Laptop for developing for Windows Phone 8 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm a computer engineering student and I've got a lot of interest in developing. So now that I'm learning Computer Engg I think this is the best time to fulfill my passion. I'm a real newbie in development so I want some help. I'm getting a new laptop soon I want to know which one should I get that will help me developing for Windows Phone 8 only, I don't plan to develope for PCs. I've decided Sony Vaio Fit and it has i5-3337U and NVidia GeForce GT 740M graphics card and 500GB 5400rpm hard drive. Will it let me run Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 or I need to get i7? However in my price range if I want to get i7 I'll have to deal with weaker graphics card and I plan to do gaming on it also so a little bit in dilemma. Will i5 be enough for developing for WP8? Also any further guidance will be appreciated, cause I'm a real newbie. Not much experience with developing but I know programmin languages well.. please help and thank you.. :-)
