    After the app is installed, the tile and the text description is present on the desktop. But this is confusing because the text obscures the image.

    Is there a way to not have the text description on top of the image? The image is enough and the text overlay is not needed.

    Yes. Clear the "Show Name" option for the tile in the manifest.
