Is it possible to change the original sector size(ex.512 bytes) in the document(like .doc, .xls, .ppt)? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm Seunghoon Woo, studying in Korea university.

Recently, I focus on the security of documents for my research.

But my idea must need to change the sector size in the document.

I read some documentations, and they said the original sector size is 512 bytes(or 4096 bytes), but it can be modified.

However, I do not find how to change the sector size such as 64 bytes or 128 bytes.

So, is it possible to change the original sector size?
More precisely, can I reduce the sector size such as 128 bytes?

    Is it possible, then how?

Please write the answer for me...

    Thanks,

    Seunghoon Woo

    No, it is not possible.

If sector size is 128 bytes, it would require 4 times of address for managing a hard disk (comparing with 512 byte sector).  I'd like to know why you want to use 64 or 128 byte sector.
