Metro apps won't work with live ID Accounts

General discussion
-
When the account is a Live ID most of the Metro apps don't work, or behave incorrectly
Working are Internet Explorer, Connect 5, Stocks and Socialite
Not Working:
- Tweet@rama (starts, you can press the login button but nothing happens)
- Weather (The progress circle is looping around and it doesn't do anything)
- News (Says Loading... and doesn't do anything after that. Buttons in the lower menu don't work) - Tile Puzzle (Only one image is available on the upper part, but clicking on them doesn't do anything)
Tweet@rama and Weather apps also create an error log file in the AppData. The former can't load a js file, the latter can't connect to the local storage manager.
Changing the account back to a local one will make the problem dissapear.

Did you see this discussion ?- video settings are known to impact some applications.
Hope this helps,

I have the same issue. I am running native 1600x900 resolution which should be fine. It really seems it has something to do with windows live accounts. When i login with a local account news, tweetorama and weather DO work.

For me it is just the News App - I tried disabling sync from control panel, turned off all sharing - but it still didn't work. Made another Local Account(original is a live id account - couldn't find a way to convert it to a local account) - and the news app works there!

Another solution: Refresh your installation!
The key is to have a Live Account Sign in from the beginning - the problem arises when you convert a local account to Live Login
