Lightswitch HTML Client RELEASE "no handle for data" RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi there,

I'm just developing a Lightswitch HTML Client application and all works fine, but one of our customers got problems accessing the site by the internet access of his company.

There is just an error message displayed: "no handle for data".

It seems to be a problem with this specific internet Access (firewall?).

There is no problem accessing the site via 3G and Smartphone or any other connection I already tested.

I'm using Visual Studio Update 2.

    Has anybody an idea?

    Thanks for your answers!

  • Hi Chris,

LightSwitch HTML Client uses datajs library for data querying. The error above is an error from datajs library when it receives back a responses from the OData service, but could not parse the data blob in the response.

datajs library relies on the response's header information to determine the type of the data blob it receives (XML, JSON, ...). So in this case, most likely the response's header is modified.

You can use IE Network capture (F12, Network tab) or Fiddler to look and compare the headers of a succeeded and failed response to see if there are any differences.

    Hope this will help,
    Huy Nguyen
