  • Hi Pradeep,

Yes,I am aware that SQL managed instance is supported in ADF v2.

    But my concern was:

    1) Currently we are migrating our IAAS databases to SQL managed instances and some of the data was loaded into those DB's via ADF v1.

So in case if I move them to SQL MI, Should I recreate those pipelines in ADF v2?
Isn't there any way by which I can update the existing ADF v1

  • Hi Nandan,

You can always use ADF Migration Tool to update your ADF Version. If you have a pipeline with an on-prem connector already set as a source and a sink connector (in your case - a SQL managed instance  is not supported in ADF V1), the migration tool would copy all the connections and the pipelines to ADF V2.

However, in your case, in ADF V1, SQL MI was not a supported connector. Hence you will have to create a new connection and replace your sink in the copied pipeline with this new connection.

    Hope this helps.
