HTTP Response Communication Exception on IIS hosted WCF using Entity Framework RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a .Net 4.5 WCF service that returns data using Entity Framework. I keep getting an exception and I cannot figure out what the problem is. The WCF will not communicate with Entity Framework to save my life.

The Communication Exception is as follows.

"An error occurred while receiving the HTTP response to https://{myServiceUrl}. This could be due to the service endpoint binding not using the HTTP protocol. This could also be due to an HTTP request context being aborted by the server (possibly due to the service shutting down). See server logs for more details."

I am using a basicHttpsBinding not a basicHttpbinding. The WCF is using an https port.

The service will return things like strings but not from the database. If the Entity Framework context is called at all the error is thrown. I even tried just using a SqlConnection and the same error came back.

I will gladly provide more information if necessary. The server is running the Windows Server 2008 R2 OS. It's IIS 7.
