Adding an icon to custom Word 365 Backstage tab RRS feed

  • Question

  • We're moving a backstage customisation from Office 2010 to Office 365.

    After a lot of searching this answer has got us to a point where we have the functionality in place.

    However when I try and add an icon to the top-level custom tab, the customisation breaks, and the Word's standard "New" menu returns.

    <customUI xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/2009/07/customui">
      <backstage>
        <tab idMso="TabOfficeStart" visible="false" />
        <tab id="MFLLP" label="MF New" insertAfterMso="TabOfficeStart" imageMso="FileNew">
        </tab>
      </backstage>
    </customUI>

    The above code works except for the imageMso="FileNew"
    That imageMso works deeper in the tab (I've omitted the contents of the tab for brevity) but not at the top level

    What am I missing in Word 365?
