Typed Datasets TablePropName RRS feed

  • Question

  • If I have a table with the same name as the typed dataset it is contained in, it wants to name the property _TableName instead of TableName.  I believe the reason is that this will not work in C#.  However, I am using VB and it does work.  If I go into the XML and change msprop:Generator_TablePropName="_TableName" to msprop:Generator_TablePropName="TableName" it works just fine.

The problem with this method is that if I change the schema thru the designer it will revert back to the _.  Is there a better way to get around this?

Probably not.  Since it appears that you have control over the DataSet, consider changing the name of the DataSet.  It is confusing to have multiple things with the same names.
