SQL Server 2016 Management Studio crashes in Query Designer RRS feed

  • Steps to recreate crash:

    1. Open Query Designer in SQL Server 2016 Management Studio (13.0.15000.23)
    2. Have at least one join between two tables
    3. Open 'Show Diagram Pane'
    4. Right-click on the join

    SSMS crashes with error message "SSMS has stopped working Windows can try to restart the program"

    This was supposed to be fixed already:

  • Hi MarcusKlemp,

    Reading the connect details, the fix says it will be in the first release after SQL 2016 RTM, which should be end of June, early July. Only the RTM version is currently available.

  • I sure hope they get this out in the next week, it's been driving me nuts as I use the design serface to help with multi table joins and for years I have clicked on the join button all the time.
