Taxonomy Term Store: Renaming a term RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

after renaming a term in the managed metadata service I encountered the following behaviors:

    - existing SharePoint items are keeping the old version of the term

    - new SharePoint items are also using the old text of the term

    - only the taxonomy picker and the related textbox are showing the new values

is this a bug or as designed?

    used version: SharePoint 2010 RTM.

  • Hi,

The  metadata will be updated after the timer job has run successfully.

Please check the timer job status, you can run this job immediately by clicking the “Run Now.”

If this doesn't help, please restart the SharePoint 2010 Timer in Service list and check the result.

    Thanks & Regards.

  • Hi there,

thanks! it required indeed a timer job! In my case I needed to restart the "Taxonomy Update Scheduler".

  • How about if you restart the service, run the timer job and the terms still don't change after a successful timer job completion?

  • I guess you are SOL!  We are in that situation (i.e. restarted service, ran timer job, no change in term name in views.).  Any progress on this since 10/2010?
