How to set content caching on endpoint with custom origin type? RRS feed

  • Question

  • From Zozzi (@zozzi77) via Twitter who tweets:

“ hello AzureSupport, need some help with Azure CDN on new portal. how to set content caching on endpoint with custom origin type. at the moment every request returns 200 on every page load and this is can be pretty expensive ;-(”

Customer was referenced the documentation on  https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/cdn-create-new-endpoint/  however this did not help the customer

The customer also added: “I checked the docs before. nothing about caching on custom origins endpoint ;-(”

    Tweet URL: received over DM

Appreciate if you may be able to advise the customer on this matter.

  • Hi Francis,

Azure CDN will honor the cache control header from the Origin, or use a 7 day default TTL if none is set. Please ask the customer to check their origin cache settings.

If they are looking to customize the edge cache default, or override the Origin cache settings, they can use the Rules Engine available in the Premium profile.
