    First post:

I am often away for several days at a time. I want to be able to access my PC remotely using Logmein during this period.

I have Windows update set to download but only to update when I choose to.

Restart options: no custom restart time.

    Advanced options:

check Give me updates for other MS products

not checked: defer feature updates, use my sign in info

Updates delivered from more than one place: On

Power settings are : PC goes to sleep: Never.

Nonetheless I still find the PC shut down after some time, I think less than a day.

How can I keep it on always?

    Last post:

set the Wifi connection to metered in the hope this would prevent updates from being downloaded.

It seemed to keep it alive some nights but yesterday it closed down overnight the day before I needed it when I was away.

The Windows logs show nothing. for example the entry before and on startup today were

The operating system started at system time ‎2017‎-‎03‎-‎09T09:00:35.490011500Z.

    Log Name:      System

    Keywords:      Classic

No shutdown log. Look like a hard crash, but I've no idea why

  • Aileen Alf advises to use the Technet forum, which is here.

This issue has nothing to do with Performance Toolkit.
