Fxlogix migration from old to new location with different domain name RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

    Hope you are doing.

Recently I got a project to onboard a new client from another MSP . It involves migrating their Server & data to Azure tenancy setup a new domain in Active Directory.

When the user login on the Azure VM for the first time it creates a brand new fslogix profile with brand new SID.

I tried to mount the existing profile VHDX and copy the profile across to the new profile VHDX modified the permission accordingly; Profile folder Owner is SYSTEM and the rest of the user folders such as Desktop Documents, Download owner is the user. By doing this it breaks the fslogix when user log back into the VM with the error code of 0x0000009

Just want to know is there any way to migrate an existing VHD into the new domain with the correct permission applied or Is there a better way to migrate user's existing VHDX profile to their new.

your recommendations & advices are highly appreciated and thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

I'm working on the same process. And I have te same error!

Since July, have you solved this problem?

Have you modify this file Profile\AppData\Local\FSLogix\ProfileData.reg?

    Thanks a lot.
