Setting DLINQ in Visual Studio 2005 IDE RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am running Visual studio 2005 professional edition version :

    Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
    Version 8.0.50727.762  (SP.050727-7600)
    Microsoft .NET Framework
    Version 2.0.50727 SP1

    Installed Edition: Professional

    Microsoft Visual Basic 2005   77626-009-1304481-41557
    Microsoft Visual Basic 2005

    Microsoft Visual C# 2005   77626-009-1304481-41557
    Microsoft Visual C# 2005

    I have installed the DLINQ CTP (May2006) and followed the instruction in the readme to add the DLINQ capabilities to the C# IDE. I.E I ran the Install C# IDE Support.vbs script from the bin directory of the DLINQ preview folder. I am able to add a .dlinq file as a designer file and drag tables from the database through the server explorer. I am also able to create a datacontext object in the code. However the problem starts when I want to start querying the database the IDE does not recognize DLINQ key words. So for example the following code:

    var bookProducts = from bp in wtx.T_BookProducts select new {bp.BookProductId, bp.Name};

    generates an error  ";" expected and invalid expression term 'in'

    Am I missing something in trying to add the DLINQ capabilities to the IDE?
