  • Hi yuchow,

How about the result if you cope some simple contents from your Notepad into the HTML page in VS? I suppose the html code you copied from another doc has some formats.

First please enable the "Format HTML on paste" (Tool->Options->Text Editor->HTML)

Please restart your machine, close other third party programs and disable the anti-virus software and firewall. Run your Visual Studio as administrator then try it again.

Also try running your Visual Studio in Safe mode to Check whether some add-ins and extensions affect it (devenv /safemode)

If above suggestions still no help. I think there might be something wrong with your Visual Studio Express. Please try to did a repair or upgrade to the latest version.

By the way, I suggest you could try to use the VS2015 Community. It's also a free version and it is full-featured.
