4.0 vs 4.5 assembly qualified names RRS feed

  • Question

  • In 4.0 we used assembly qualified config sections name like so:

     <!--
          <section name="Acme.Services.Windows.Framework.Core.Impl.MultiThreadedPollingServiceSettings" type="System.Configuration.ClientSettingsSection, System, Version=4.0.0.0, InputCulture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" requirePermission="false" />
          -->

    Unfortunately, in 4.5 this blows up with a file not found exception.

    Changed the culture setting from InputCulture to Culture and now the app runs just fine.

          <section name="Acme.Services.Windows.Framework.Core.Impl.MultiThreadedPollingServiceSettings" type="System.Configuration.ClientSettingsSection, System, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089" requirePermission="false"/>

    Is this a breaking change from 4.0 to 4.5?  Where can I find the list of 4.0 -> 4.5 breaking changes?
