Why there is "KnownFolders" if permission should be approved using a "FolderPicker" ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • In C# winrt programming, accessing folders except "ApplicationData" folders the permission must be approved using a "folder picker". But in VS there is a option "KnownFolders" to get folders like "pictures library", "documents library", "home group" etc. Does that mean permission to access known folders can be granted without using a folder open picker ? If its possible how to do that ?

  • when using knownfolders you dont need to use the folderpicker indeed. With the KnownFolder class you can directly access those folders (if have the permission checked in the manifest file)
