ExportAsFixedFormat works differently when export a Word Document opened in "ReadOnly" mode. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a word document that has 256 pages and some paragraphs with "keep with next" property.

When open the word document in "Read/Write" mode, and call ExportAsFixedFormat to convert it to pdf, the output has 256 pages.

When open the word document in "ReadOnly" mode, and call ExportAsFixedFormat to convert it to pdf, the output becomes 243 pages.

Why is the pagination calculation different in "ReadOnly" mode? Thanks

  • Hi Fred

Impossible to say, based on the information we have...

Could you please be more specific as to "Read/Write" vs. "ReadOnly" mode: What do you mean, exactly?.

Looking at the two result documents, where are the differences? Is something being left out (and if yes, what)? Are the pages being broken differently (if yes, give us some examples)?

Are there any macros executing with the documents, such as when they're opening?
