Database migration from MS Access to SQL RRS feed

  • we need to convert Access DB to an SQL technology to make it more robust.we may also want to keep the existing Access front end. What approx time it will take to perform full migration task.

    Full migration will depend on a number of factors:

    • Number of tables to migrate?
    • How big are these tables?
    • Number of additional SQL server objects to be created?
    • Are you going to use upsizing wizard or data imports?
    • Are the Access database and SQL Server in the same datacentre?

    it would take you few hours if your data is so big

    if it small it may take a few minutes
