SSDT BI is not supported on windows 10 ?

Question

I am trying to install SSDT on windows10.

I have windows 10 home premium edition .

As per Microsoft site there is no listing for windows 10 ?

Note : Microsoft doesnt even sell windows 7 anymore and we are forced to use windows 10 .

you install SSDT BI on windows 10 without installing VS first. Upgrading your machine to windows 10 with SSDT already installed is expected to work.  A workaround is to install Visual Studio full first and then install SSDT-BI on top.

From what I hear it was a very late regression issue with the Windows 10 build.

Try the workaround, or if you can wait a couple of weeks keep an eye out for the patch through Windows Update.

Hi MLTC,

According to the Microsoft’s official documentation , the SSDT for Visual Studio 2015 is supported on windows 10.
 

I also downloaded SSDT for visual Studio 2015 via the download links which are provided by this Microsoft’s official documentation and install it on a windows 10 operation system machine, it could works well. So if you want to install SSDT on windows 10, please download SSDT for visual Studio 2015.
