SQL Mirroring 2005 Standard RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to setup sql mirroring on SQL standard 2005 sp2 and I get an error below.

It says I need to enable trace flag 1400 during startup, but I thought this was only pre-sp2. As you can see it is definately sp2.

Also another quick question does db mirroring only use 5022, are their any other ports?

From the above its clear that you are running RTM version of SQL Server check both principal and mirror server, both of them should be patched with SP2.

Also another quick question does db mirroring only use 5022, are their any other ports?

You can use different port numbers, 5022, 5023 are default port numbers for database mirroring.

You can check the below link for configuring database mirroring

  • But when I run :

    I get SP2.
However going http://www.sqlsecurity.com/FAQs/SQLServerVersionDatabase/tabid/63/Default.aspx I see it says "2005 'Fixed' SP2 (use this if SP2 was NOT applied yet - orig. RTM removed)" So does this mean it isn't sp2, odd...

  • Check whether all the components are patched with SP2. Try the below query.

Make sure it returns value as 9.0.3042 (for SP2) and make sure both principal and mirror server has same edition.

  • Is it Windows Service Pack 2 or SQL Server Service Pack 2 , check the build number you are on , apply SP2 + GDR Security fix.

could you post the build version by running select serverproperty('ProductVersion') on all the servers involved.

  • Sorry I should have posted back, this is all fixed, the standby server wasn't sp2, it should have been but it wasn't.
