I can't get a html project working. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I bought Kinect for Windows and I'm trying to execute  BodyBasic-HTML version, but I can't. I am new to this, and is very possible that I am forgetting something, but I have fought with that during all the afternoon, and I couldn't make it work. Kinect sensor works perfectly since I can execute all the other applications kinds.

So I wish you could refer me to a basic setting up guide for html projects, or something similar.

    Thank you

  • It should be just installing the sample from the SDK browser, open the project and press "play". The only special remark I remember about HTML projects is that you have to add microphone and webcam capabilities in project manifest, but they're already added for the SDK sample.

Could you provide some information about the error you get?

  • I don't get errors. I can make it work on Visual Studio, but not in the browser. I open default.html file with the browser, and I don't get error, but I don't get signal from the Kinect either. And there isn't any message asking me to enable webcam or microphone.

    Thanks.

  • Have you updated your system settings > Privacy to ensure the system camera and microphone capabilities can be used by applications?

    • Win-W > type 'Privacy', launch Privacy settings link in the list
    • Select Camera - be sure "Let apps us my camera" is on and in the list the application, your application is on as well
    • Repeat for Microphone

Do you mean an internet browser (like IE, Firefox or Chrome)? Windows Store apps cannot be run in a regular browser even if they use HTML and Javascript. For "execution purposes" they are regular windows apps (regardless of the languages they use for the design or logic).

As far as I know, currently there is no "out of the box" way of using Kinect v2 on a browser.
