Ingesting DASH CMAF to Live Encoding media service RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to use an on-prem encoder to ingest a DASH CMAF stream to a Live Encoding endpoint, but not able to get playback. I have been following the instructions for Live encoding Live Event verification as part of Becoming an on-premises encoder partner.

I have not seen any HTTP transfer errors on the encoder's end, so I am wondering the following:

    1. Does Azure accept DASH CMAF? fMP4 is mentioned, but it does not explicitly state DASH CMAF.
    2. I have not been able to find documentation about viewing the files that have been uploaded, is there a way to do that?
    3. I do not see any access logs when inspecting the media service I am using for this stream

  • Short answer - no, our service does not currently support DASH CMAF as an ingest format. As indicated here, RTMP or Smooth Streaming are supported as ingest protocols. Would it be possible for you to switch to either of these?

  • It would also be helpful to know which encoder you are using for DASH ingest.
