  • Hi Team,

How to save a Visual Basic Macro in the Excel work book? What is the extension for Macro Enabled Workbook?

Is it xlsm or xlsx or xls?

  • Thanks Eugune.

    1) What happens if I save the file as xlsx or xls instead of xlsm?

    2) Can I open the xlsm(macro) file on any browser and use the functionality of it?

  • 1. You code will be vanished.

    2. Nope. VBA macros can be run only from Office desktop applications.

  • The question is not clear. Do you want to save a macro such that it can be used by other workbooks or do you want to save a workbook that has a macro that only that workbook uses.
