RTMP Live Streaming? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Per Microsoft support, I am posting on this forum:

Where are the Azure Media Services ingest points? Do you support RTMP? Do you support transmuxing to other output formats (HTTP streaming, etc.)? What is the cost structure for Azure streaming services?

  • The current preview of Windows Azure Media Services does not support live streaming.  We will make announcements about live streaming in the next few months.

Pricing for Windows Azure Media Services is currently listed in the Media section at http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/pricing/details/.  Closer to the live general availability we will include pricing for live streaming on this page.

  • Your reply was in December of 2012 (10 months ago) and you mentioned an announcement about RTMP ingestion/live streaming in a few months.  Will you please give us an update?  My team and I are already in the Azure eco-system and are very reluctant to look at Amazon/Wowza, etc if you will have something soon.

  • Same situation as the others here.  I have a large streaming project that I will soon start developing and need to make a decision whether to use Azure or move to Amazon.

It's been 10 months and all along we've heard is "soon".  Are there any updates that can be given?
