HighResolutionIconUrl element for an Excel add-in RRS feed

  • Question

  • I submitted an Excel add-in a week ago, and today I got a report from seller dashboard team. One issue is about "HighResolutionIconUrl element" in the manifest.

They say "The icon referenced in the HighResolutionIconUrl element of your add-in manifest must be 64x64 pixels in dimension.". However, I see 128x128 pixels in this page: https://dev.office.com/reference/add-ins/manifest/highresolutioniconurl

Additionally, this page (http://dev.office.com/docs/add-ins/overview/add-in-manifests) shows HighResolutionIconUrl is not required for an Excel add-in.

I am quite confused. Could anyone tell me what's the exact requirement for that for an Excell add-in?

  • The high resolution image should be 128x128 for Outlook add-ins and 64x64 for Word/Excel/PowerPoint add-ins I believe :) While a high resolution image is technically not required for the manifest to work, it is part of the requirements to be published in the store.

    Hope this helps.
