Is there a way to open the Photo app with a folder?

    Question

  • I dont want to include a photo browser in my app but rather use the default Windows image viewer for that. Is there a way to activate the photo app with a folder?

I know that I can call launchAsync with an image file but is there a way for folders too?

Answers

  • No. You can launch files into their default handler, but not folders. Apps cannot launch specific other applications.

  • Thought so. Well, my own photo viewer it is then. It violates the "not each app is an island" principle of Windows 8 but what can I do :)
