How to grant an access to a service account to run a windows service? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a windows service running on Windows Server 2003 on Production.

They have a service account setup to run this windows service.

but the windows service can't run; what access right needs to be given to the windows service and how so that it can run?

That service account on production isn't an Admin.

    Thanks,

  • Your question appears to be about server account configuration, and not about .NET Framework setup (this forum's topic). For better feedback, please consider posting in the Technet Windows Server forums here:

Scroll down to the Windows Server section.

  • all right, copied it there.

but wouldn't it be better for people like me and for you to have a feature which enables them to edit the category of the post rather than creating a new one and removing this.

Or maybe there is already such function that I am not aware of?

  • Hi Dynamic,

Thank you for your post in MSDN forum!

As you description, would you like to be focused on privileges of Windows Server?

This is .NET Framework Setup Forum, your issues is Off-Topic here. I would recommend you could open a new thread in Windows Server Forum. The following link is:
