Excel - Drop down list populates cell under it with an editable template RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

So what I have right now is a two sheet workbook, 1st sheet is my layout for work that resets with every member, 2nd sheet houses all of my tables so that my first sheet can pull information from it. The issue I cannot get around is that I need to be able to select from a drop down a task in cell b27 that I need to complete and the corresponding tasks template populates under it in B28. It needs to be editable so I can't use VLOOKUP unless there is another way of using it that I don't know about but I was thinking of using VBA's "If then" to populate it but I don't know where to start...

  • Hi TheDudeBro,

According to your description, please correct me if I have any misunderstandings on your question, you could use Worksheet.Change event like below:
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)

If Not Intersect(Target, Range("C1")) Is Nothing Then
        Select Case Range("C1")
            Case "Sales": 'statements
            Case "Tech": 'statements
        End Select
    End If

    End Sub

    Thanks for your understanding.
