problem connexion in Windows Developer Preview - My connection is now very slow and I can't download anything RRS feed

  • Hey Pentieum51,

Try installing the latest driver/drivers for the device you are using the connect to your network/Internet. This may be a wired or wireless device, but the drivers can be found by visiting either your computer manufacturer's website or the website of the specific device that you use (such as an external USB wireless networking device).

If the connection you are using is built into your computer, visit your computer manufacturer's website and look for a support or download drivers section in the website. Then find your computer's download and download the latest driver for your wireless or wired networking device. Once you have downloaded the driver installer, open the file you downloaded to install the driver.

Note: Since you cannot download anything using this computer, you will need to use another computer to complete this task. Then you can transfer the driver installer to your computer that is running Windows Developer Preview using a removable storage device such as an external hard drive, USB drive, CD, DVD, etc.

If the installation of the latest driver isn't successful, try using the compatibility troubleshooter to see if it is able to install the driver. You can do this by:

    • Press the Windows key on your keyboard to enter the Start screen
    • Type Compatibility
    • Click Settings in the right column
    • Click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows

Then follow the prompts and direct the troubleshooter to the installer for your computer's driver/drivers.

Look forward to hearing back from you.
