Showing recipient details for created mail items on Explorer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I am creating some mails in a custom folder from my add-in. The data for the mail items are received as DataTable, and I am creating the items in C# using Redemption.

For some of the items (namely the ones sent by the user), I want to show the recipient details on the explorer (the way it shows in the default sent-items folder). Right now, it shows the sender details.

Can someone tell me how to accomplish this?

    Thanks!

    Thimila

  • If I remember correctly, Outlook 2003 does expose the MAPIFolder.CurrentView and MAPIFolder.Views properries.

You should be able to modify the XML in MAPIFolder.CurrentView.

  • Isn't it just a view setting? Ca nyou change the view on that folder to show To instead of Sender?

  • Thanks for the reply Dmitry!

No, or rather, I cannot find a setting that would do that.

  • In the folder, right click on on any column, select "View Settings...", then "Columns".

  • Thanks Dmitry, found it. I forgot to tell you that I am using Outlook 2003.

Is there a way to set this programmatically? with either OOM or Redemption?

  • Thanks Dmitry, thanks a mil!

I got it to work by setting the currentView.XML property to a pre-defined xml string of the format I require. (I hope key-words do not change!)
