Azure WebJobs in ASP.NET 5 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an ASP.NET 5 Web Application in Visual Studio 2015 RC.
Now I want to create a WebJob, it can be independently or on the web application.
There are resources how to do it in .NET 4.6, but how can I deploy an ASP.NET 5 Console Application?
Is there a way to do it like:

  • Hi,

There is no direct executable, but when you use kpm bundle it'll generated CMD file for whichever commands were registered in the project.json file, such as run --> run.cmd.

Bundle the application using kpm bundle --runtime <runtime>, zip the output folder and deploy it as webjob

  • At this time there is no tooling for ASP.NET 5 Console App projects to be deployed as WebJobs. The Web Tools Extensions team is working with the service owners now to come up with the most elegant way to do this. The support post below sums up the workaround you'd need to implement today to get one running, but we've not yet built the tooling to support this scenario. Our goal is to have it ready at the same time we GA the new ASP.NET VNext functionality.
