Remount Ejected or Safely Removed USB Device Without Unplug and Reinsert RRS feed

  • Question

  • My question is, Is there any solution how to solve this problem? I've tried to find it with google, but without result. I want to implement it in my application, with C#. Maybe WMI could help me, but I'm not sure.

    Thanks for your help!!

  • the state is persistent until the device is no longer reported as present. for instance, disable/enable won't make it come back since the device is still plugged in

  • This is responsibilities of PnP configuration manager. You can start from CM_Request_Device_Eject function (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff539806(v=vs.85).aspx) and read through. Also some information you can find in http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/13839/How-to-Prepare-a-USB-Drive-for-Safe-Removal
