Cannot connect to SQLEXPRESS afterdefault install RRS feed

  • Question

  • I get the following error when trying to connect to my instance of SQL Server 2008 Express R2. It is installed on a 64bit machine with Windows 7 Home Premium Edition. When I installed I took all of the defaults and finished with a successful install message. The explanation of the error at the provided link may as well be written in Greek. It makes absolutely no sense and does not offer a solution. Has anyone had this issue and how was it solved?
