MapDepthToColorImagePoint, have to calculate each Frame? RRS feed

    Is the Map I calculate with the MapDepthToColorImagePoint function changing each frame, or is it possible to calculate a map of the whole depthFrame at the startup of the program and use it just as look-up-Table?

  • The offsets vary with depth (distance from the sensor). Since the depth values change from frame to frame, the offset for a pixel needs to be recalculated each time the depth at that pixel changes.

    If you're mapping all points in the frame, it's more efficient to use KinectSensor.MapDepthFrameToColorFrame once per frame, rather than calling MapDepthToColorImagePoint in a loop.
